Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Lake Maggiore
Arrival at the hotel, check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 – The Valley of the Painters
Travel to the beautiful Vigezzo Valley, long renowned for its artistic tradition.
Visit the Rossetti Valentini Foundation, home to one of Northern Italy's most important schools of painting, before exploring the charming village of Santa Maria Maggiore and the impressive Sanctuary of Re, an important place of pilgrimage.
Day 3 – Art Around the Borromean Gulf
Visit magnificent Isola Bella, including the Borromeo Palace and the remarkable Berthier Gallery, an exceptional collection displayed in the style of a seventeenth-century aristocratic gallery.
Continue to Verbania Pallanza to explore the Landscape Museum, famous for its collection of works by Impressionist sculptor Paolo Troubetzkoy and numerous artists inspired by Lake Maggiore.
Day 4 – Lake Orta & the Painted Village
Discover the enchanting Lake Orta, beginning with Legro, the famous Painted Village, where colourful murals celebrate classic Italian cinema.
Continue to the UNESCO-listed Sacred Mount of Orta, stroll through the medieval village of Orta San Giulio, and enjoy an optional boat trip to the peaceful Island of San Giulio.
